Family owned since 1983

Four decades on Highway 6.

Mountain View Sports has been renting gear to Keystone visitors since 1983 — long enough that the children we fitted for their first pair of skis now bring their own children in.

We're not a resort concession and we're not a chain. We're a shop on the highway with a tuning bench in the back, and the whole business model is simple: charge less than the mountain, tune everything properly, and be honest about what you actually need.

Forty years in one valley means we've fitted boots for three generations of the same families, and we've watched Keystone grow from a single mountain into the biggest night-ski operation in Colorado.

New ownership

New sign. Same shop.

The shop changed hands recently and moved down the road to Gateway Plaza — a bigger space, closer to the bike path, with the tuning bench finally where it should be. The sign out front is new. Almost nothing else is.

Same rates, same Kids Rent Free offer, same Montana stone grinder, same people behind the counter. The plan isn't to reinvent a shop that has worked for forty years; it's to stop making guests fight a website to book it.

What is genuinely better: the new location is closer to the rec path and the singletrack than anywhere else in Keystone, and there's room to park at the door and leave the car all day.

What we stand for

Four promises, kept for forty years

The lowest rates in Keystone

Not a loss leader — just a shop with lower overheads than a slope-side concession. Twenty percent off on top if you book ahead.

Kids ski free

One free junior rental per adult Performance or Demo package. We would rather build the next generation of skiers than charge for their first pair.

Paid once, up front

You pay in full when you book, and that is what locks in the lower online price. Nothing extra appears at the counter.

Straight answers

If you do not need the performance demo, we will tell you. If the bindings on your old skis are not safe, we will tell you that too.

Forty years of first days

Booked from Sydney six months out and it was exactly what we reserved. Boots fitted in ten minutes and we were on the hill by nine.

Drove up from Denver on a whim, walked in at 7.50am, had skis by 8.10. First place you hit coming into Keystone and you can park right outside.

The shuttle was the best day of the whole holiday. They mapped the stops out for us and picked us up in Frisco exactly when they said.

Jobs

Working here

We hire for winter and summer seasons, and for a handful of year-round positions. Rental techs, tuning techs, shuttle drivers and counter staff. Ski or bike benefits, a shop that closes at a reasonable hour, and colleagues who are here for the mountains rather than the career ladder.

Mountain View Sports is an equal opportunity service provider and employer, and operates under special use permit from the USDA Forest Service, White River National Forest.
