Which bike do I want?
The honest answer is that it depends where you're going. Here's how we usually steer people at the counter.
Path bike
Comfort geometry, upright position, wide saddle. The Vail Pass workhorse and the right call if your plan is the paved rec path.
Mountain bike
Front suspension and trail tyres for Summit County singletrack — Keystone Gulch, the Colorado Trail, the Frisco Peninsula.

Twelve miles of coasting down Vail Pass
We drive you to the summit, you roll back down paved path through Ten Mile Canyon, and we collect you in Frisco, Dillon or right here. Shuttle-plus-bike packages start at $64.35 online.
Where to ride from our door
The Summit County recreational path runs more than fifty paved, car-free miles linking Keystone, Dillon, Frisco, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and the summit of Vail Pass. From Gateway Plaza you're on it within a few hundred yards — no shuttle, no roof rack, no hunting for parking.
For dirt, Keystone Gulch climbs straight out of the valley onto a network that ties into the Colorado Trail. The Frisco Peninsula is fifteen minutes away and is the friendliest singletrack in the county for a first mountain-bike ride. Gravel riders head for Montezuma, Loveland Pass or the old railroad grade toward Boreas Pass.
Everything is above 9,000 feet. Start slower than you think you need to, carry more water than feels reasonable, and remember that afternoon thunderstorms are a near-daily feature in July and August — most locals are off the high ground by 1pm.
